It’s Time to Stop Online Predators.

It’s scary to think that 1 in 3 children are aggressively solicited by an online predator. As a father of three, I feel it’s time we take action against online sexual predators and keep our children safe.

Here’s my plan to tear down online predators:
-Pass a law similar to New York’s E-STOP that requires sex offenders to register email addresses, screen names and all internet identifiers with the state so that the information can be made available to networking sites, like Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace.
-Launch a campaign to encourage the use of parental control software.
-Work with schools to ensure that student projects, artwork, or photos that are posted online are accessible only with a password.
-Strengthen laws against sexual predators that would include banning them from working in home construction.
-Increase penalties for sex offenders and those convicted of crimes against children.
-Raise public awareness about the dangers of Internet predators to empower parents to implement safety measures.
